Our gardens have morphed into more than just a lavender. Yes, we still have a lavender field with around 250-300 plants. We also have a wildflower meadow that is expanding. We have added peonies and have started to harvest them this year and they are stunning! We have roses, blueberries, strawberries, and lots of veggies and herbs and raised beds.
The type of garden we have is more accurately called a cottage garden. “The cottage garden is a distinct style that uses informal design, traditional materials, dense plantings, and a mixture of ornamental and edible plants. English in origin, it depends on grace and charm rather than grandeur and formal structure.” (Wikepedia, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cottage_garden).
I have used the name Lainey in our business name as it’s a childhood nickname for Elaine (my name). We will still offer the same great products and yes, lavender, as well as many other dried botanicals, herbs, and gifts.
Our business hours (online/email) are from 9 am till 5 pm EST Mon-Friday (except holidays) and Saturdays, 9 am-3 pm. Currently, we are not accepting rush orders. We are working hard to harvest and air dry lavender and other flowers from our fields. New orders for bouquets ship in approximately 4 weeks – see individual listings for processing time.
We have stopped local pick up. When we are harvesting and simultaneously filling orders, it’s difficult to arrange convenient pick up times. We will offer this service during less busy times of the year. Please be assured that I carefully package everything to ensure your items arrive undamaged. I also ship with enough leeway to account for any corrections or if an items is lost or damaged in transit I can send a replacement.
I am very excited for the rebranding of our “farm” to a cottage garden. Be looking for the name change soon.
Here are some really gorgeous photos of our gardens this summer so far. Lavender harvest is starting this week! Till next time.
